A construction site toilet should be placed for daily use while remaining safe and accessible for delivery, servicing, and pickup. Select an area near the active work zone but outside equipment traffic, trench edges, loading zones, crane paths, material storage, and customer entrances. Workers should not need to walk through occupied homes, unsafe terrain, or high-traffic areas to reach the unit. At the same time, the delivery vehicle needs a clear route to the location. Early in a project, an open space may seem ideal but later become blocked by framing deliveries, dumpsters, fencing, or excavated soil. Choose a spot that can remain available as the job develops, or communicate in advance if a relocation will be required. The appropriate unit count depends on regular crew size, subcontractor overlap, shift timing, and project duration. Handwashing stations may be worth including where crews handle materials, eat on site, or lack a practical nearby wash area. Describe actual site conditions when requesting the rental.

Longer construction rentals require an ongoing access plan. Servicing needs are influenced by usage, number of workers, and the time the unit remains on site, so notify the rental provider when crew levels materially change. Keep gates unlocked or ensure the designated contact understands the service schedule and access process. If the site requires check-in, personal protective equipment, or restricted delivery hours, provide that information ahead of time. During rainy periods, inspect whether the service route remains passable and whether the unit’s surface is stable. Avoid moving the toilet without coordination, especially if the new location has reduced access or uneven ground. For renovations at occupied properties, place the unit so it supports the crew without disrupting residents, customers, or parking.
